Storm Drain Stencil Resources

Thank you for your interest in H2OC’s storm drain stencils! If you have storm drains that need to be marked, we recommend using consistent messages. To help you, we developed these plaques and stencils for community members to use!

Unlike the sewer system which does treat water, anything that flows into the storm drain system can go untreated into Orange County’s waterways. By utilizing our resources, you can remind your neighbors to help prevent pollution.

While we have created the art files, you will need to work with your preferred print vendor to produce them. Follow these quick steps to get your materials:

1. Download the art files:
Stencil (traditional stencil to spray paint the drain)
Plaque or Marker (hard durable plastic that is glued to the drain)
2. Provide the art files to a vendor of your choice.
3. Order the quantity you need and any supplies (adhesives, paint).
4. Place them on unmarked storm drains to protect our creeks, rivers, and ocean.

By placing these materials on unmarked storm drains, you can reinforce that anything which goes into the storm drain system can flow untreated into Orange County’s waterways. The plaques also have a QR code which community members can scan for more pollution prevention information. Thank you for being the solution to runoff pollution!
